The 2012 Athens Holiday Victorian Stroll will take place on December 8th. This year’s stroll will include Victorian games for children, horse-drawn trolley rides, traditional music, holiday-decorated historic house tours, a photo booth with historic costumes, and so much more.

Various events will be held throughout the village.  The bandstand at Riverfront Park will be used from 4PM to 5:30PM for an ice carver as will the Crossroads Brewery at around 1:00PM.

Athens is one of the prettiest little Hudson River communities on the west bank of the river.  Its small town charm is probably what led Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and crew to come here in 2005 to film a major plot arc for the blockbuster film The War of The Worlds (the flaming train and overturning ferry scene).  In the scene virtually every resident of this little town participated as movie extras!
