Sharon Springs Sparkled During the Victorian Holiday Celebration

We, the Festival Fanatics, took a trip to Sharon Springs to check out the Victorian Holiday Celebration on Dec. 1, 2012. And it was everything we expected and hope.

There were great costumes, wonderful people, amazing food, and, of course, the Fabulous Beekman Boys, who granted us an interview. Check out our video. We’ll have a podcast later in the week for you to download.

We sampled great food from the following vendors:

  • Austintacious (A marshmallow dipped in dark chocolate fondue — ridiculously good)
  • Le Marais Chocolat (Gluten-free and organic sweets and treats)
  • My Sisters’ Cafe (Margi gave us the BEST pumpkin pie creation ever. It had a homemade crust with a heath bar twist. Delectable!)

We also met some amazing characters, from the group who came from Boston to Scott the Town Crier,  during the weekend event that is well worth a trip. There was also Judy, who helps organize the Dog Festival in Schoharie Valley! We’ll have to check that out next year.

As for Sharon Springs, we will certainly return for the Spring and Harvest Festivals, as well as whatever else might be upcoming. Oh, and we’re sure to root on the Beekman Boys on The Amazing Race.

Take a look at photos from this incredible event:

How charming! I wish I could have been there!

I was enjoying the pictures till the Obama ornament .

    • Susan,

It was representative of the Tree of Presidents. We took photos of two other presidential ornaments. Each was represented on the tree.

Hi Susan. The “Presidential Tree” was stunning. It was the centerpiece of the American Hotel lobby. It was a dazzling display of Americana, presidents, and America flags. Glad you liked our photos. It was a great day in Sharon Springs!

I suggest only horse and buggy for next year thru the center of town. That’s the one thing that would have sparked it up a notch.
