Queens World Film Festival

Turning 7, QWFF is set to return to the Museum of the Moving Image and other venues across Queens March 14 - 19 2017. We anticipate screening between 80 and 100 films. It is important to QWFF that every screening is a worthwhile experience for participating filmmakers and our guests so we will continue many of our signature elements: dynamic thematic programming, hosted screening events with engaging talk-backs, relevant networking opportunities and maximum access to press. We will again screen narrative films, documentaries, LGBTQ and animated films and we will program both short and feature length films. However this year we are adding a new category: Family Films. We are excited to introduce families to independent and international cinema.

As we prepare for the March 2017 event we are also producing weekly Encore Screening events and enjoying graceful collaborations with some wonderful partners including the Queens Council on the Arts, New York Parks and Recreation, Jackson Heights Beautification Group, Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, Jackson Heights Green Alliance, Rockaway Civic Association, Friends of Diversity Plaza, Zoe Scope Studios and our Presenting Partners, Investors Bank.

We program in thematic Blocks, grouping films together to create specific impact rather than run a stacked schedule with films running one right after the other all day. Each Block has a theme, a host and targeted marketing so that we can build communities around each Block as its own event.
