Christmas Masquerade Ball is held annually the night before the Clayton Christmas Parade (usually the first Friday in December, this year it happens to fall in November) to kick off the Holiday Season and benefit local families in need during these times.

The tradition of the Christmas Masquerade Ball dates back to 2009. With each successive year it has grown larger, with 2018 marking its 10th anniversary and the largest Ball yet. Initially created to provide support to the “Clayton Christmas Fund,” a charitable fund organized by the Clayton Sons of the American Legion and the local Boy Scout Troop, the Ball’s success quickly grew to enable additional donations to local food pantries in Clayton, Depauville and Alexandria Bay, as well as to the Paynter Senior Center and the Alexandria Central School Backpack Program.

Since 2009, over $70,000 has been raised and distributed to those in need in our river communities. In addition to the beneficiaries listed above, TIYLO has been fortunate enough to be able to make donations to the Indian River, Thousand Islands and Hammond Central School Backpack Programs and to food pantries serving additional river communities, such as Cape Vincent, Hammond, Orleans, LaFargeville and Redwood!

These efforts could not be achieved without the long list of local businesses and individuals that support TIYLO with a sponsorship and with silent auction donations. Each year community members, from Cape Vincent to Watertown to Hammond, and all points in between, join TIYLO for a wonderfully festive evening of dancing, socializing and celebrating the holiday season, with the noble purpose of giving back to those truly in need.
