Here Come the Lilacs! Rochester to be in Full Bloom for Festival!

The annual Lilac Festival in Rochester runs from May 10-19 in the city’s Highland Park. Other events throughout the city will make this the most festive community of the weekend.

Thousands of lilac trees, plants and bushes are expect to shade Rochester in a beautiful warm purple glow for the festival. Among the many events are a 10K road race, live entertainment, art displays, family fun events, vendors of all kinds and a Lilac Parade (on Saturday, May 11). This 10-day long event is free and nearly 500,000 are expected to visit and enjoy the wonders of this great city.

Today over 500 varieties of lilacs blanket more than 20 acres of Highland Park in the city.
