December is Silver Bells Month in Salamanca

Did you know that the man who wrote the Christmas classic song “Silver Bells” (full story above) was born in Salamanca? Neither did we, until now!

Composer and musician Ray Evans, a Salamanca native, is honored in this month-long event-filled festival of Silver Bells. It begins Dec. 1 withe the opening of the Christmas Village Exhibit. Throughout the month, there is a craft show, performances by the middle and high school bands and choruses, and a Santa Carnival.

Patrons can pose with Santa, meet reindeer and participate in a number of great events all month long.
